C\u2019est donc en travaillant \u00e0 partir de la bauxite que l\u2019on extrait l\u2019alumine, mat\u00e9riau de base pour la fabrication d\u2019aluminium. Le proc\u00e9d\u00e9 d\u2019extraction de l\u2019alumine consiste \u00e0 ajouter de la soude \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature et \u00e0 pression \u00e9lev\u00e9e \u00e0 la bauxite. On obtient alors de l\u2019aluminate de sodium exempt d\u2019impuret\u00e9s que l\u2019on dilue ensuite et que l\u2019on refroidit. Cela permet de dissoudre totalement cette poudre blanche. C\u2019est alors que d\u00e9bute la phase d\u2019\u00e9lectrolyse qui consiste \u00e0 faire traverser un courant \u00e9lectrique \u00e0 haute intensit\u00e9 dans la cuve dans laquelle se trouve l\u2019alumine dissoute. L\u2019aluminium, qui est ion positif, se d\u00e9pose ainsi sur l\u2019\u00e9lectrode n\u00e9gative appel\u00e9e cathode. On ajustera donc le dosage de ces alliages en fonction des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s que l\u2019on souhaite obtenir.<\/p><p>Il est \u00e9galement possible d\u2019obtenir de l\u2019aluminium par le biais du recyclage. C\u2019est le proc\u00e9d\u00e9 de fabrication que l\u2019on appelle \u00ab seconde fusion \u00bb. Pour cela, on peut utiliser l\u2019affinage, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire la refonte des d\u00e9chets, d\u00e9bris et r\u00e9sidus d\u2019aluminium de r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration ou la r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration de chutes neuves dans l\u2019industrie des produits en aluminium.<\/p><\/div>\n
